The Fordax Public Speaking: the go to club for public speaking

The Fordax Public Speaking

A brief on how the public speaking club works

Beginner or experienced?

Whether you’re a complete beginner or an already experienced speaker, the Fordax Public Speaking Club is designed to provide you with a friendly environment to improve on your presentation skills by presenting more frequently. Think of it as a learn-by-doing approach to mastering public speaking and presentation skills.

What really happens?

In every club meeting, you practice giving a prepared speech in front of others. The club meeting holds every Tuesday by 5PM at our office in Utako. If you registered for 6 months, you could do an estimated 20 presentations in those 6 months.

But if you’re not prepared to give a speech at the beginning, you can simply attend a few Tuesdays to watch others and learn from their speeches while you prepare yourself for your own time.

Will there be evaluation?

Yes. After your speech, the appointed evaluators will give some constructive feedback. This will help you to evaluate your presentation and identify some of the areas that need improvement.

Also, other members are allowed to help by providing feedback, ideas, suggestions and anything that could help a member get better with public speaking.

Will there be presentation tasks?

The program comes with 12 core practice modules or tasks to guide some people that require discipline. But there’s no rush or pressure to complete these tasks. You can take your time to grow at your own pace through consistent practices.

Is this a public speaking seminar?

Not really. It’s important to note that the club is not a seminar or workshop. Even though, there will be coaches around, they won’t function as instructors in the club.

Members evaluate one another’s presentations and give feedback. The Fordax Public Speaking Club is a learn-by-doing approach to mastering public speaking.
